Philately combines the traditional desire for the discovery of foreign countries and the modern pursuit of financial gain. However, collecting postage stamps today isn't just an amusement for young boys.
We chose the most valuable postage stamps for which philatelists and investors paid millions of dollars in world auctions. Expensive postage stamps are not just Blue Mauritius, Black Penny or British Guyana.
One of the most interesting deals of recent years has been the sale of a real treat between stamps. At the July 2021 auction in Ludwigsburg, Germany, Red Mauritius was sold for a record of $12 million (including the auction fee).
The world's rarities on this timeline are complemented by several interesting stamps issued by the Czechoslovak Post Office.
